FOR GIVE NESS (Part 1)
This topic is very near and dear to my heart. Forgiveness has been a major key in my life for a healthy and whole heart. Jesus promised all an abundant life, if we are to experience this abundant life , then our responsibility is to choose and obey GOD’s WORD, and forgive. Father told us to forgive, JESUS forgave all on the cross, looking forward to the joy set before him, you and me!
If we do not forgive, a terrible root of bitterness grows and takes over every facet of ours lives , even causing some to shipwreck their faith.
Lord Jesus told Peter to forgive 70×7, which obviously means to forgive always, even if the other person never changes or repents. FOR GIVE NESS is a gift mostly to yourself. If we have heart problems medically, we go to the doctor, to get our hearts healed so we can be healthy again. Doctor JESUS gave us the ultimate prescription “FORGIVE”.
Is it easy? No , sometimes our hearts hurt so much! I found the best solution, studying the WORD of GOD and allowing HOLY SPIRIT to imprint Truth into my soul, (mind, will , emotions). Then, I choose to forgive. When I make this choice Lord JESUS brings HIS great power (Grace) and does heart surgery. I have experienced this healing miracle every single time in my life.
On another side, if we choose not to forgive an ugly bitter root grows in our heart. The bitter root will defile all your relationship and most of all our relationship with Father GOD. A person can become very critical frequently discussing the hurt. This heart becomes the devil playground, he will plant all kind of lies into our head, to which we cannot combat. I have seen people so consumed with their bitterness there countenance becomes very ugly, and no one wants to be around them. There is no joy, or peace with a bitter and unforgiving heart.
Your blessed when you get your inside world-your mind and heart-put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.
My next blog will be about Trust, we forgive, but do we immediately trust.
Has there been a time in your life where you were hurt and chose to forgive, and how did you come to interrelate with the person you forgave? (Please no names if you do share.)
